Applications are invited for the post of post-doctoral research assistant on the EPSRC funded project Seismic response of the built environment in densely populated urban areas. This project aims to improve our understanding of the seismic risk posed to towns and cities which are a complex system of structures interacting with each other through the . ground, a process known as structure-soil-structure interaction. The successful applicant will investigate the seismic response of adjacent structures on soft ground using the Geotechnical Centrifuge and Earthquake Simulator. Applicants should hold a PhD in Civil Engineering, ideally specialising in either geotechnical or structural engineering, or equivalent research experience. Prior experience in centrifuge modelling would be advantageous, though training will be provided.. Employer Reference ASE0062. Pension: No details held.
