The post holder will be part of a team and will have specific responsibility for researching on the conversions of polyols-C5, C6 carbohydrates and their mixtures and decomposition products to value added chemicals, and will provide guidance to technicians, PhD and project students as necessary. The post holder. will need to hold a DPhilPhD in organic chemistry preferably with post-doctoral or equivalent industrial experience, expertise in homogeneous catalysis, have well-developed technical skills relating to working with high pressure reactors and various analytical instruments. Research experience in organic synthesis involving hydrogen transfer reactions and carbon-carbon bond formations is desirable.
