Role Purpose: Our client is recruiting a wind turbine inspector to address the growth of demand for wind turbine inspections in the UK. The Inspection Services groups deliver technical inspections of onshore and offshore wind farms for various stakeholders in the wind industry (lenders, operators, insurances, etc.). The successful applicant will take part of a team of 3 inspectors and will be responsible to execute inspections, manage subcontractors, and deliver high quality engineering reports. Main responsibilities: - Perform the following inspections in onshore/offshore wind turbine: visual inspection of tower and nacelle, detailed inspection of machinery, using video-probe, blade inspection (cherry picker or rope access), take oil and grease sample from various rotating equipments, functional test of various equipments - Prepare inspection reports - Interface with customer to plan field work - Coordinate 2 inspectors ans possibly several subcontractors - Contribute in improving procedures and aligning QSE system with other Inspection Groups in Europe - Train and shadow future recruits - Liaise with other Inspections Centres (Germany/Spain) Person Specification: To be successful in this role, and our business, you will need to demonstrate following qualification, professional expertise and personal attributes: Technical/Professional Expertise: - Electrical and/or mechanical engineering qualifications (MEng) - Good understanding of Health and Safety - Full driving licence - Experience in the wind industry is required, either as field technician or field supervisor - Very comfortable with MS Office package (Word and Excel mostly) Competency requirements: - Ability to work at heights and in adverse weather conditions in order to inspect wind turbines Flexible and enthusiastic approach to work.
