FRANCAISAn employer in the social sector is looking for a Support worker, (m/f)to work with people with autism. Description : This is a home for 8 adults aged 18 to 65, currently all male, with autism and severe learning disabilities. The home provides care and a safe environment. Staffing ratio is 1 staff member to 1 client within the home and 2 staff members to 1 client within the community. There are individualised programmes for each client, including activities in the community. The philosophy aims to enable people to live their own lives happily and achieve goals using a person centred approach. You will work with clients, psychologists, and the clients` families or carers, social services and health professionals. Note 1: Clients have physically challenging behaviour and physical aggression is common. Note 2: We are looking for people to be able to start work within the next 1-3 months. Requirements : - Previous experience of working in a residential setting with adults with disabilities, particularly autism. Ideally you will have a social care qualification. - Good English language skills - Willingness to do care work and to commit for at least 1 year - Good team-working skills and independent working skills - Driving license - Willingness to work flexible hours (including late shifts & weekends) Duties : - To assist to develop, prepare, monitor and review care and personal plans. - To provide support and encouragement in the tasks of household, personal and group management, including the following: - Budgeting - Home care/House keeping - Personal care - Shopping, preparing and cooking meals - Assisting in leisure pursuits - Attending appointments (doctors etc.). Offer: - Location : Southampton / Totton - South Coast of England - Salary : Annual salary of approximately 15800 pounds, includes sleep-ins (7,60 pounds per hour) - Benefits : 28 days holiday per annum.
