University of the Arts London is a vibrant world centre for innovation, drawing together six Colleges with international reputations in art, design, fashion, communication and performing arts.
The University recruits significant numbers of International students and so its admissions process needs to comply fully with the UK Border Agency’s (UKBA) Points Based System (PBS) for managing immigration. You will play an important part in this by administering tier 4 (students) of the PBS process, overseeing and managing efficient supporting systems and procedures – including issuing confirmation of acceptance of studies certificates – whilst acting as the main point of contact on all PBS matters across the University. In addition you will support and advise the University’s International Centre and Student Services to ensure that sufficient PBS-related support is provided to staff and students, and carry out staff training as required.
Degree qualified, you will need significant previous experience of working with UKBA immigration regulations in relation to the new PBS of immigration. As our internal expert, you will keep abreast of all UKBA visa regulations and how this impacts on the University, so an up-to-date understanding of HE/FE admission policies and procedures is also necessary. Additionally as an excellent communicator, you are able to disseminate complex information in an easy to understand way. IT proficiency is a given, as is some training experience, and the ability to network will also be beneficial.
In return, we offer a competitive employment package including a salary that reflects working in London; annual leave; a final salary pension scheme; and a commitment to your continuing personal and career development in an environment that encourages creativity, diversity and excellence.
